5th Grade Teacher
I graduated from Owasso High School (GO RAMS!). I then attended Northeastern State University (GO RIVERHAWKS!) in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and received my BS in Elementary Education, with a Reading Endorsement for 5th-8th grade.
I have taught for 17 years in both public and private schools. I have had the privilege of teaching in Owasso, Ok, Los Altos, Cailifornia, and Long Beach, California. For 9 years I was a member of the rock star teaching team at East Elementary. This is my second year here at West. I will be teaching 5th grade History and one class of English and Writing. West is an amazing school and I could not be excited about being here with some of the best and most creative teachers in our district.
I had the great honor of being selected to attend the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute this past summer. It was a week long professional development for 5th grade teachers. I had to opportunity to learn more about the 18th century colonies, people, and events that led to the American Revolution.
I have lived in Weatherford (Go EAGLES!) for 15 years. My husband, Brian and I have been married for 27 years and have 2 amazing daughters. Reagan is a Kindergarten teacher in Owasso, OK (Go RAMS!), and Macie is a Junior at UCO in Edmond (Roll CHOS!).
As a family we value our time together and love serving together at Pine Acres Church. We are also huge OHIO STATE (GO BUCKEYES!) fans. Our family is also presently assessing our allegience to the Cleveland Browns, with their quarterback addition of that Sooner, “Baker”. :)
Watching sports, reading, scrapbooking, and playing golf (badly) are some of the fun things I like to do in my spare time. I also enjoy learning about American history and traveling.
